The signing of Peace by Germany on the 28th June brings to a welcome close, the terrible sufferings of nations throughout the world during these five long years. It is unnecessary at this stage to deal with either the righteous aims that led us into the war or the various events that took place during this period. We hope that it will never be our lot to record again events of such a nature in the columns of our journal. We will only remind our readers, ere we drink in full mea- sure the cup of tranquility that this Peace will bring us, of the full significance of the stupendous sacrifice of such a large number of young and heroic lives, but for which, we would never have had such an honourable and glori- ous peace. If it were only possible to have prevented this terrible carnage and heavy sacrifice, the world would not have been so poor of such a vast number of brave and noble lives, as it is today.
