Post-Publication Policy of MAJ
To ensure the integrity and transparency of its publications, MAJ adheres to post-publication processes aligned with best practices following COPE standards.
Post-Publication Processes for MAJ:
Corrections:
- Authors are obligated to promptly inform the journal of any errors identified in
their published work.
- Upon verification, MAJ will publish a correction notice detailing the changes and
linking to the original article.
Retractions:
- In cases of significant errors or ethical breaches, such as data fabrication or
plagiarism, MAJ will issue a retraction.
- The retraction notice will clearly state the reasons and be linked to the original
article, which will be marked as retracted but remain accessible for transparency.
Expressions of Concern:
- If an issue arises that requires further investigation, MAJ may publish an
expression of concern to alert readers.
- This notice will be updated with the outcome of the investigation once concluded.
Post-Publication Peer Review:
- MAJ encourages ongoing discourse through letters to the editor or online comments,
fostering a dynamic scholarly dialogue.
- Constructive critiques and discussions will be evaluated and, if appropriate,
published to contribute to the academic conversation.
Handling Conflicts of Interest Discovered Post-Publication:
- If undisclosed conflicts of interest are identified after publication, MAJ will
assess their impact on the research's integrity.
- Depending on the severity, actions may include publishing a correction, issuing an
expression of concern, or retracting the article.
Data Availability and Reproducibility:
- MAJ promotes transparency by encouraging authors to share data and methodologies.
- Post-publication, readers are invited to replicate studies and report findings,
enhancing the reliability of published research.
Ethical Oversight:
- MAJ is committed to upholding ethical standards and will investigate any allegations
of misconduct post-publication.
By implementing these post-publication processes, MAJ ensures the ongoing accuracy,
integrity, and credibility of the scholarly record, fostering trust within the academic community.
