Effect of Some Pre-Harvest Treatments on Grain Yield and Protein Content of Sorghur

Abstract


Spraying of 15% or 20% solution of sodium chlorido, 3 hours berore nar- ast. reduced the moisture content of sorghum grain by abou 3 per cent whereas, usting carberyl or chalk powder at the above stage reduced he moisture by 1 to per cent only. The yield of grain and the protein content tre not affected by he chemical desiccants tried, Harvesting Co18 and Co21 sonum on 90th, 95th or 100th day after sowing did not bring about a significant cinge in grain yields or its protein content.
