Abstract

The effects of mutagenic treatments, gamma irradiation, EMS and combination treatm ent on economic characters of groundnut cultivars, TMV 9 and Ah, 7911, were studied in M. and My generations. While there was reduction in the mean values of different characters in the M, generation, they were equal to that of control in M, generation, Mutogenic treatments have resulted in the increase of genotypic variance, heritability and genetic advance of yield attributes, High heritability and genetic advance for pod yield at 40 krad treatment in TMV 9 and 40 mM of EMS treatment in An. 7911 have shown the possibility of genetic improvement following selection.
