Single spray of matela hydrazide (MH) mede on n potato crop at 2-0 weeks before harvest at 4 concentrations (0-0 4%) had no marked influence on morphological charac- ters, MH spray given 6 weeks before harvest at 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 per cent reduced the total tuber yield by 5 51, 10.36 and 13.93 per cent respectively mainly by decreasing the size of tubors. The MH had no significant influence on per cent dry matter of haulm, roots and number of tubers par hill, However, it redused the starch and total sugar content of tubers.
