Abstract

The effect of pre-harvest single foliar application of maleic hydrazide (MH) at four concentrations viz., 0, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 per cent at 2, 4 and 6 weeks before. harvest on the storage behaviour of potato cv. Kufri Jyoti was studied upto 150th day of harvest. It was observed that sprouting, sprouted eyes per tube, sprout length, sprouts weight, cumulative PLW and rottage of tubers were low throughout the sto rage, its effect being pronounced with increase in concentration and early application prior to harvest. It lowered the dry matter of tubers, but increased the starch content. and had no significant effect on sugars at 150th day of harvest.
