The subject of the weather and the crop is receiving considerable attention in these days, and many aspects relating to this problem were discussed more or less fully at the last Conference of Empire Meteorolo- gists in London. While expressing the desirability of accumulating more data on the subject, it was resolved to examine all present, records by Dr. R. A. Fisher's method as a first step in the statistical investigation of the problem. The following is an analysis of the rainfall and the yields of the cotton crop at Koilpatti by that method, from data kindly supplied to me by Mr. V. Ramanatha Ayyar, Cotton Specialist, Coimbatore.
