Abstract

The genetic variability study carried out with fifty genotypes of fodder ragi had shown that there existed a wide range of genotypic coefficient of variation for the characters studied. Heritability estimate was the lowest in plant height while days to flowering had the highest. As the fodder yield, days to flowering and leaf number had combined high values for genotypic coefficient of variation, heritability and genetic advance, direct phenotypic selection based on these traits is suggested for improvement in fodder ragi.
