Abstract

F2 generations of eight crosses of five parents (ASD 17. ADT 36, ADT 37, BRC 13-34-1-1-1 and AD 25723) studied for variability in number of productive tillers per hill, number of grains per panicle, panicle length, 100 grain weight and single plant yield, showed that the crosses. viz., between ADT 36 x ADT 37 and AD 25723 x ADT 36 registered high mean and high variability and these can serve as ideal source material for exploitation of desirable traits through pedigree breeding
