Analaysis of rainfall for 47 years (1951-1997) at Coimbatore was done to find out the occurance of normal, abnormal and drought months. Monthly probability analysis was also made to compute R/PE ratio. For Coimbatore a growing period of 75 days may be planned for annual cropping from last week of September to first week of December without any greater risk.
