Abstract

The effect of culture media, carbon sources, nitrogen sources, temperature and pH on the mycelial growth of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cepae was investigated. The fungus grew the best on Czapekâ€™s dox medium and glucose was the best source of carbon whereas peptone was the best source of nitrogen. Growth was maximum at 30Â°C which was reduced drastically below 20Â°C and above 35Â°C. The most suitable pH for optimum growth of fungus was 6.5.
