Abstract

The lace wing bugs belonging to the family Tingidae (Hemiptera), have been studied extensively elsewhere. A preliminary list of the Tingid fauna of South. India was published in 1962 (Mohanasundaram, 1962). Since then, several species have been either collected for identified from previous collections. The present note is based on the collections of lace wing bugs made in South India by the author during the period 1962-70 and from the unidentified tingid specimens re- trieved from the mixed insect collect- ions of the Entomology Section, Agri- cultural College and Research Institute, Coimbatore.
