The control of the Root-Gall Nematode worm Heterodera Radicicola, Gr. has been the subject of extensive and earnest investigations for the last fifty years in many countries both in Europe and America. Since this worm has been for long recognised as the cause of one of the most serious diseases which crops are subject to, a good deal of literature has arisen and many useful facts have been accumulated on the question consequently the problem has advanced to a great extent along many and varied paths of enquiry. One of the most interesting and fruitful lines of research among these has heen the increased attention paid to the bionomics of the pest which might provide the key to the problem of its control.
