Seed coat colours. As in other pulses, cow-pea exhibits several seed coat colours. These colours may be spread uniformly over the whole of the seed coat or may occupy particular zones. The farmer is called whole colour or solid colour while the latter goes under several names, "speckling", "eye colour" etc., according to the nature and spread of the colouration.
