Abstract


In the preceding Section (Part-I) the distribution of the different soils in the districts. and taluks of the districts was given. The soils were shown as belonging to four categories namely the black, red, alluvial and arenaceous soils. Nothing was said about the nature of each category. In the present and subsequent papers it is proposed to deal with each category in respect of mechanical and chemical composition and Physic-chemical properties.
