Abstract

On the Nilgiris though the potato crop receives higher doses of the major nutrients, viz., Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potash (80 N + 200 P₂O₃ + 100 K₂O), per acre, the average yield is comparatively low. In view of the emphasis of recent studies on the importance of micro-nutrients in plant growth, it was found necessary to ascertain whether the low yield is due to lack of certain micro-nutrients.
