The Irrigability Rating-Amaravathy Project

Abstract


A numerieal rating of the soils of the Amaravathy Project for irrigation suitability is prosented. Soil texture, soil salinity, soil pormeability, soil pH and exchangeable sodium porcentage were considered and marks allotted according to their importance in irrigation. The marks scored by a profile satisfactorily expressed the actual field conditions thus proving the effectiveness of the rating methods.
