The results obtained from a study of the inheritance of lodging in crosses involving two improved Madras strains TKM. G and Co. 20 with typo 265 from Java and type 2230 from Australia are reported. "Lodging" was dominant over "non-lodging" in F, and the sogrogation in the F. indicated monogenie inhoritance of this character, which was in confirmity with the previous finding of Ramiah. The results of this study will enable the rice breeders to evolve suitable breeding techniques for the evolution of non-lodging paddy strains.
