In the previous paper, the physical setting of the catena and morphological features of eight profiles dug in the catena have been presented. The physical properties and their inter-relationships are discussed in the present paper. The physical properties such as texture, true and apparent densities, maximum water-holding capacity, pore space and volume expansion on swelling show relationship not only to the chemical, physico- chemical and bio-chemical properties of soils but also among themselves. Such relationships are useful in characterising soils. When the relationship is highly significant, the soil property may be used to predict other properties.
