Abstract

In an area of seventy five acres of land recently acquired near the Millet Breeding Station of the Agricultural College and Research Institute, Coimbatore, levelling of land was done to prevent the twin deleterious effects of the soil erosion and gully formation, to facilitate improved irrigation methods and to improve the field to meet the needs of mechanised farming.
