Abstract

In recent years, the Alternaria blight disease has become a menace to the gingelly cultivators in Tamil Nadu. No detailed investigations of this serious disease have been made either in India or elsewhere, ever since the discase was recorded in North Caucasus (Kvashina, 1928). Hence studies were undertaken on various aspects of the disease and the results are presented in the paper.
