Abstract

A field experiment was conducted in sunflower to compare the selectivity and efficiency of herbicides with that of conventional method of weed control under graded doses of nitrogen. Pre-emergence application of prometryne at 1.0 kg a. i./ha was the best weed control treatment and it was on par with the conventional method in, seed. yield. The oil content in seed was not affected due to herbicides. Prometry no applica tion gave the highest net return per rupee invested on weeding.
