Tindivanam soil responded to application of calcium and increased the yield of groundnut shoot (haulm). Calcium addition has brought about increase in the number of matured pods and yield of kernels. Calcium carbonate at 150 kg/Ca/ha gave as much yield as that of calcium sulphate at 75 kg Ca/ha. Shelling percentage was appre- ciobly increased due to calcium application compared to control.
