In view of the importance of exchangeable calcium determination as a measure of limo requirement of acid soils, this parameter was tested in 33.300 soil samples collected for the preparation of village level fertility map. This paper records the results of the first systematic investigation on exchangeable calcium content in the soils of the individual farmers holdings of the district. Areas falling under different ranges of exchangeable calcium content are indicated.
