Studies on the affect of treatments with Ethyl methanesulphonate at two different concentrations on germinating seeds of chillies of different metabolic states have revealed. the occurrence of two sensitive peaks one around 24 to 28 hours and the other around 48 to 56 hours in Mi generation. In these periods, in Ma the frequencies of chlorophyll mutations were also relatively high. The chlorophyll mutation spectra induced at different durations, of presoaking varied to a marked degree suggesting that mutation spectra could be altered by varying the presoaking periods.
