Differential Characteristics of Adopter and Non-Adopter Small Farmers Growing Paddy

Abstract


The adopter small farmers belonged to middle age group higher in socio-econo- mic status and had more urban contact than non-adopters. The adopter small farmers were relatively more localita in their value orientation than non-adopters. The adopter small farmers were low in their risk orientation than non-adopters. The adopters were high in their knowledge with more favourable attitude and more scientific orientation than their counterparts. "Knowledge about the cultivation of High Yielding Varieties of Paddy" was the most discriminating variable between the adopter and non-adopter small farmers.
