Abstract


In a study of Profite of the gypsiferous Dasarapatti soil series (Dpt), two typical soil profiles were examined for morphological, physical, chemical and biological properties. The Dpt soil has vertisol characteristics with gypsum crystals in Ass and C1 horizons. High lime content, base status, CEC and montmorillonitic clay are characteristics of the soil Internal drainage is the main problem in this soil.
