Critical Level of Magnesium in Soils.

Abstract


Experiments conducted according to the method of Cate and Nelson (1965) revealer that 2.3 me/100 g of soil of 1 N ainmonium acetate (pH 7.0) extractable magnesium may be considered as the critical level in Nilgiris soils. Among the soils tested under this experi- ments, response to applied magnesium could be expected from localities other then Dhavani, Kavaratty and Kuruthukuli.
