Abstract

Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan L. (Millsp.)), a protein rich pulse is grown in the semi-arid regions of India. An IPM module consisting of different techniques developed by TNAU was evaluated in the pigeon pea farmerâ€™s holdings of Tamil Nadu during Kharif seasons of 2003, 2004 and 2005. The results indicated minimum damage of pod borers in IPM field and higher levels in the farmersâ€™ practice. Higher grain yield and C/B ratio were also realized in the IPM demonstrated fields compared to farmersâ€™ practice
