VARIABILITY IN COWPEA (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp.) UNDER DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Abstract

The variability study for yield and other traits in cowpea in two seasons and three environments indicated that Kharif season (June sowing) is more advantageous for expression of a wider spectrum of variability. Selection for cods per plant, seeds per pod and 100 seed weight resulted in increased yield.
