Abstract

The variability study for yield and other traits in cowpea in two seasons and three environments indicated that Kharif season (June sowing) is more advantageous for expression of a wider spectrum of variability. Selection for cods per plant, seeds per pod and 100 seed weight resulted in increased yield.
