Tho possibility of utilizing silkworm larval litter (SLL) as an alternative or supplementary feedstock with coudung for biogas production was studied under laboratory conditions. Incorporation of SLL enhance the generation of biogas in all treatments. Maximum quantity of 1553 ml/day was observed on an average over a period of six weeks in SLL alone incorporated treatment followed by SLL in- corporated with coudung (1365 ml/day). However, SLL incorporated with coudung produced maximum quantity of 2450 ml/g of total solid destroyed uhereas SLL alone produced 1917 ml/g of total solid destroyed. Maxicum mathanogenic population was recorded in SLL alone (172 x 103/9), followed by SLL incorporated with coudung (155 x 10³/s).
