Abstract

Field experiment was conducted with forty genotypes of rice (Oryza sativa L) under alkaline stress conditions during rabi season. The results revealed the following. Grain yield exhibitied positive phenotypic and genotypic correlation with plant height, number of productive tillers and grain number. The results of path analysis revealed that the highest positive direct effect on yield was exerted through number of productive tillers followed by grain number per panicle.
