Abstract


Biochemical analyses of selected rice cultures/varieties resistant, moderately resistant and susceptible to rice tungro virus (RTV) discase revealed significant differences. The contents of total soluble sugar, reducing sugar and non-reducing sugar were higher in susceptible varieties. Resistant cultures/ varieties had higher amount of total phenols and ortho dihydric phenols.
