A study was conducted on water use for Navarai paddy in Krishnagiri Reservior Project (KRP) in Dharmapuri district. The study revealed that the farmers in head and middle regions used more water than the recommended level, while the farmers in tail region are using less than the recommended level. It also indicated that irrigation distance and the quantum of water use are inversely related. The study underlined the need for proper distribution of available water for irrigation in the ayacut area.
