Abstract

A residual field crop of blackgram was raised after fingermillet and maize in a cropping sequence at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore with five phosphatic fertilizer sources and three levels to study their residual effect. Fertilizer sources were added only to fingermillet and maize. The results indicated that the water insoluble sources - RP, RP+ SSP and RP + phosphobacterium significantly increased the grain yield over the water soluble sources - SSP and DAP. No significant difference was observed among the P sources with number of pods per plant and thousand grain weight.
