Abstract

In thirty hybrids of tomato, the influence of component characters on yield under moisture stress was studied by correlattion and path analysis. Yield per plant was significantly and positively correlated with days to flowering, leaf area, root length, RDW/SDW, number of fruits per plant and mean fruit weight, but negatively with plant height and number of branches per plant, RDW/SDW, leaf area and number of fruits per plant exerted high direct effect on yield. Considerable direct negative effect was observed for days to flowering, number of branches per plant and root length.
