Forty genotypes of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L) comprising 33 progenies and 7 parents were studied in F3 and F4 generations. Correlation and path coefficient analyses were computed for yield and yield contributing characters. Yield improvement could be achieved by selection for number of mature pods, 100 kernel weight, number of flowers, number of pegs and peg flower ratio since the genotypic correlation coefficients for these characters were positive and significant and they had high direct and indirect effects on pod yield.
