CoC 99061- A new sugarcane variety for Tamil Nadu

Abstract


CoC 99061 is an intervarietal hybrid of Co 6806 x Co 740. It is a mid late sugarcane variety with a duration of 330 360 days. It is an erect, medium thick cane with high yield potential. It is non lodging and non flowering. CoC 99061 recorded an average cane yield of 130.33 t/ha, CCS % of 11.94 (commercial cane sugar) and yield of 15.59 t/ha. It is moderately resistant to red rot disease and tolerant to borers.
