Abstract

The effect of foliar spray of brassinosteroid (BR), triacontanol, salicylic acid (SA), naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and mepiquat chloride (MC) on pearl millet was studied. These growth regulators, increased chlorophyll, soluble protein, nitrate reductase activity (NRase) indole acetic acid oxidase activity (IAAO) and uptake of nitrogen (N). Grain yield, grain protein and sugar content were also enhanced by these growth regulators. Among the treatments, BR (0.1 ppm) and triacontanol (10 ppm) were found to be more effective.
