Abstract

Seed samples of rice hybrid ADTRH 1 collected from 25 locations spread over in two different agro-climatic zones of Tamil Nadu revealed significant variations in various seed quality components viz. physical (purity, ODV, split husk seeds and 100 seed weight), physiological (seed germination, speed of germination, dry matter production, vigour index and electrical conductivity of seed leachate) and health. Among the centres of hybrid rice seed production, Coimbatore and Bhavanisagar centres in Western Zone of Tamil Nadu were adjudged as the best and suitable places for hybrid rice seed production.
