Abstract

Evaluation of 42 upland cotton genotypes revealed high heritability with high GCV and genetic gain for number of bolls, number of sympodia, boll weight and plant height and these could be improved by simple selection. Correlation and path analysis studies revealed that number of sympodia, number of bolls, number of seeds and boll weight had significant positive association with seed cotton yield per plant in addition to exhibiting direct positive effect on it.
